BeatLam (“we”, “our”, “us”) is committed to processing personal information responsibly in strict accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (“POPIA”) and the Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 of 2000 (“PAIA”) of South Africa.
2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
We collect and process the following categories of personal data:
- Identity & Account Data: Stage name, full legal name, email address, password hash, and profile image.
- Transaction & Licensing Data: Order reference IDs, purchased beat licenses, generated PDF agreement records, and customer vault downloads.
- Producer Banking Data: Bank code, account number, and subaccount tokens handled securely via Paystack for split-settlements.
- Technical Data: IP addresses, session cookies, browser types, and device telemetry to prevent fraud and rate-limit abuse.
3. PURPOSE OF DATA PROCESSING
Your information is used exclusively to:
- Provision purchased audio files and official licensing contracts in your account.
- Authenticate logins and secure role-based dashboard access.
- Facilitate Paystack transactions and split-payouts to producers.
- Dispatch critical transactional emails (order confirmations, password recovery, support notifications).
4. PAYMENT SECURITY & STORAGE
We do NOT store or log credit card numbers, CVVs, or online banking passwords on our servers. All financial transactions are securely tokenized and handled directly by Paystack, a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment service provider.
5. YOUR DATA RIGHTS UNDER POPIA
You have the right to request access to your personal data, request correction of inaccurate records, or request deletion of your account subject to statutory accounting retention obligations.
